Redox Reactions: Redox reactions are a chemical reaction is which oxidation and reduction take place simultaneously.

Example: 
(1) During this reaction, barium sulphate loses oxygen and is hence reduced. At the same time, Carbon gains oxygen and is therefore oxidised. This is termed as redox reaction.
2. During this reaction, hydrogen gains oxygen and is hence oxidised. At the same time, sulphur loses oxygen and is therefore reduced.
3. During this reaction, CuO loses oxygen and it is therefore reduced. At the same time, hydrogen gains oxygen and is therefore oxidised.
