Relative Lowering in Vapour Pressure
Question

The solubility of a specific non-volatile salt is 4 g in 100 g of water at 25°C. If 2.0g, 4.0g and 6.0 g of the salt added of 100g of water at 25°C, in system X, Y and Z. The vapour pressure would be in the order :

Z > Y > X

X > Y > Z

Z > X = Y

X > Y = Z

given.

 Mg-salt, 100 g-water temperature – 25°C

x solute → 2.0 g

y → 4.0 g

→ 6.0 g

Saturated solution  A solution holds the maximum amount of solute.

4gsalt+100g(water)25°Csaturater soln
