Solution
A food web represents the feeding relationships within the ecosystem, and it also includes many interconnected food chains.
In the given food web, the hawk is the top consumer that feed majorly upon lizard, snake, and rabbit. In unavailability of these animals, the hawk feed upon mouse and grasshoppers. If the population of hawk increased, they would feed more on lizard, rabbit, snake, and mouse as they are easily available. This will decrease the population of lizards, rabbits, snakes, and mouse. Grasshoppers are not readily available to hawks as they live within the grass. As a result of this, the population of grasshopper will increase because of less number of predators such as lizards and snakes.
