Spermatogenesis is the process in which mature haploid sperm cells develop from primordial germ cells. It starts with spermatogonial stem cells at the base of the seminiferous tubules. At first the diploid spermatogonia at the periphery of the seminal canal undergo mitosis and form primary spermatocyte and then secondary spermatocyte. These cells then undergo meiosis to form haploid spermatids and inturn mature to form spermatozoa or sperm cells. Hence, the correct order is 'c - a - d - b - e'.
