Solution
By right - hand thumb rule, the magnetic field in the vicinity of the wire is downward perpendicular to the plane of the paper. The conventional direction of electric current is opposite to the direction of motion of the electron. By Fleming's left - hand rule, the force on the electron is away from the wire.
